A sequin skirt entirely hand-embroidered, forming a dense surface that captures and releases light with movement. The embroidery begins at the waistband and travels downward, integrating AOI’s language of jewelry through suspended 18 karat gold carved malachite drops placed through each oval loop around the waist, forming an invisible belt construction. Vertical floral panels constructed from square and circular sequins run down the front of the skirt, set against a matte and soft-shine sequin ground that creates a night-sky composition across the silhouette. Double front slits reveal movement beneath the form. Lined with silk for softness against the body.

The carved malachite drops were made and set by our goldsmiths in Athens, Greece. The sequins were sourced and custom-colored in Milan, Italy exclusively for AOI. The embroidery was executed by master hand embroiderers in India, home to some of the earliest established embroidery traditions in textile history. This skirt collectible was assembled and finished in our AOI London atelier by our petites mains.
